Frequently asked questions.
Here are some commonly asked questions I’ve received. If you have a question that’s not covered here, please contact me and I will try to help you.
How should I frame my artwork?
My artworks are very happy when they are framed with a wide white/off-white mat. Framing protects your artwork/art print from dust and light damage. A frame adds a beautiful refined element to any artwork. Please check listing details for the exact size of the artwork you are purchasing/downloading. You can have it custom framed (recommended), of find a frame at your local home store that match the dimensions of your artwork. I like framing in natural wooden frames, or dramatic decorative frames, depending on the way the painting wants to let its message known to the world.
FOR CANVAS PAINTINGS: You can take your canvas painting to a professional framer that can frame it in a floater frame, or it can be removed from the wooden canvas structure and framed flat with a beautiful broad white mat board and natural/white/golden frame. Alternatively, you can hang it just as it is, by placing the canvas over a hook on your wall. You can also add wiring to the back of the canvas frame, or ask your framer to do it, for a more stable hang (for bigger paintings).
How do I pay for my purchase?
Click on the ‘Your Cart’ button in the top right-hand corner or on the bag icon in the bottom right-hand corner. This will take you to your cart and checkout page. You can choose to pay with credit card or PayPal. Additionally, for South Africa buyers there’s also options for SnapScan and Instant EFT payments when you select the option ‘Credit card / SnapScan’. All payments are handled securely and safely through a verified and secure payment processor.
South African Buyers: If you would like to purchase original art from my website but can’t use any of the payment methods listed above, we can arrange an EFT payment and sale via email. Don’t use ‘add to bag’. You will need to contact me and I will send you the EFT details. I will reserve the artwork for you until I have received payment (emails orders are on a first come first serve basis).
No cash payments accepted.
ADDITIONAL FEES: We are not responsible for any additional duty or custom fees (international).
How do you ship/deliver orders?
SOUTH AFRICA SHIPPING:
I do not use the South African Postal service to ship original artworks. There is too great risk with artwork disappearing or getting damaged in the normal post. I use door-to-door courier services and charge a flat fee of R120 for delivery anywhere in South Africa for paper artwork and prints. For canvas paintings, the price is determined by weight and can be between R100 - R350 for large pieces Please allow for 2–5 days for delivery.
FREE delivery or collection in Stellenbosch area: If you are in Stellenbosch and put the relevant postal code in (7600), you will qualify for free delivery. Alternatively, if you are in Stellenbosch or surrounding areas, you can come and pick up certain orders directly from me. Please select the ‘I’ll pick it up myself’ option. Select a date on the calendar and then a time by clicking the small arrow in the left-hand corner to arrange the delivery/collection.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING:
Shipping international from South Africa is done via a courier like DHL. Shipping costs has a flat fee of R500 ($25-30) for small artwork and R1000 ($50-60) for larger artwork. Unfortunately, shipping from South Africa is costly and I can’t ship all sizes currently.
All artwork is carefully packaged, depending on size. I use a hard cardboard back and clear wrap to package your artwork. The artwork is then placed inside a stiff bubble-wrapped envelope before being placed in the courier packaging. Canvas paintings are bubble wrapped and boxed securely.
Do you accept returns?
DIGITAL PRODUCTS: Unfortunately there are no returns or refunds on digital products. Once you’ve purchased, the purchase is final.
ORIGINAL ART: All original art sales are final. No returns or refunds will be issued.
DAMAGE: We are not liable for any damage, failed delivery or mishandling by the shipping service, domestically or internationally. All art are packaged with extreme care to protect if from damage. Unfortunately after your art leaves the studio, we have no control over how it is handled by the courier service or post office. We are not liable for any damage incurred post-delivery.
How long will my art print take in production and when will I get it?
The Mood Forest Art Print Shop is opening the end of July 2021. All art prints are made to order. I use a small local fine art printing company to print my reproductions. They can take anywhere from 2–5 days to complete an order. Once you have placed your order for your art print, please allow for 5 days production and packaging time, and about 2–3 days delivery in South Africa. International orders will take longer depending on shipping times.
I have seen a digital product on Etsy/Instagram/Facebook and would like to purchase the original but it is not on your website. Can I still purchase it?
Yes you can! You can drop me a message and I will let you know about the availability of the artwork. I frequently get inquiries and make sales from an image of an artwork I’ve posted on Instagram.
What is a digital art print? [NO LONGER AVAILABLE]
A digital art print is a digital reproduction of an original hand-painted artwork. The artwork is scanned in at a high resolution of 300DPI, or higher, that makes it suitable for fine art printing.
How do I download my digital art print files? [NO LONGER AVAILABLE]
PLEASE NOTE: I no longer offer digital art prints. If you have previously purchased a digital art print and do not have access to your files anymore, please contact me.
Once you have purchased a digital art print, keep an eye on your inbox. You will be sent a direct download link. After you have clicked on the link, it will be available for download 3 times. After that the link will expire. I recommend downloading immediately after purchase. If you need the link to your files sent again, please reach out to me.
